House of the Rising Sun - Bob Dylan

Ah...no. I love Dylan and all, but I like his version of that songs the least. I'd rather hear them do it like Roy Acuff's version or Leadbelly's version. Hell, even The Animals version is better than Dylan's.

It's a good song, and it would fit the band, but I never understood why Dylan took a slow blues song and played it so fucking fast.

Well the whole point of a cover is to make it your own, and I'm sure down would do that very well with this song.

Are you kidding me?? Bob Dylan's House of the Rising Sun is the best. Followed by The Animals version.

Yeah, because a mournful blues ballad should really be played double time. No thanks.

Listen to Roy Acuff's version. That's the winner.

what's up people new to the community. anyways i was thinking Smokestack Lightning by howlin' wolf. I know it's blues and not classic rock/doom or whatever, but a heavier version of that song would kick ass. That song has been on my mind for a while. I figured it out on guitar using power chords. or Emerald by Thin Lizzy
