I was there, on Pepper's side, up front. Good show!
Some of my observations (at least what I can remember)
Got to shake hands and meet Kirk in the lobby before their set. Also met Jimmy on the side of the stage before their set. Pretty cool that they come hang out with us fans when they can.
During haarp's set, you could see Phil hanging out behind the amps, enjoying haarp's show. I know they're on his Housecore label, but it's like Phil is a fan of the band, not just because they're on his label. Pretty cool to see. He even joined in on vocals for a few minutes on one of their songs.
Lysergic Funeral Procession--they played the whole song. I know sometimes they just start at the middle. One of my faves, I love the doomy riff at the beginning!
Jim Dandy from BOA was at the show. I saw him off to the right of the stage just hanging out. Like mentioned earlier, Phil said one of his bands from New Orleans opened up for BOA. I guess Phil and Jim kept in touch all these years.
Phil seemed to be in a good mood, having a good time, joking around. He was in classic form, he looked and sounded good!
I like Pat Bruders. He plays bass like I do, the Geezer Butler style. I think he fits in Down just fine!
They played "Misfortune Teller". GOOD song! Can't wait to hear it on the EP.
All in all, a good show, and it seems like it was a good turnout for Down. Hopefully they'll include Memphis on their tour stops more often!
