Just checking due to the cultural difference in posting dates: March 6 or June 3?

Not sure about their first show but I can tell you that the second show they ever played was at the N.O. Music Hall in New Orleans, LA. 8-27-1993. They opened up for RAWG (which was GWAR without the gear on). There are clips of this show on YouTube.

Thanks Jules. I just came across this show on YouTube and I was wondering if anyone knew the date. :lick:

I just came across one from 1998 also, January 2, actually, at Jimmy's. I also have a possible February date in NOLA. Any idea on where it may have been at, if it actually happened?

They played with Clearlight at that show. Check Allen Jaeger's website. He did a lot of the posters for the shows back then. (If you haven't already)

Looking at one of his posters, there were dates in San Antonio, Houston, and one other I can't make out in 1995.

Hey shithead, good pull!

Go and look at that again. Save it to your desktop and zoom in on the jpg. Can you make out the San Antonio venue?
*EDIT: Nevermind. I got it.

Also, I'm fairly certain that that third show shows "30 Shreveport, LA" when I zoom in on it. What do you think? Also, can you make out the venue for the third one?

Shreveport looks like it was at The Warehouse, and there is a venue by that name in Shreveport. Anyone else coming up with that?

I'd say that's it.

It says "December Southern Tour" above the dates also if you couldn't see it.

Yeah, I got that too. I already had a December show date without confirmation, so it added up.

I can't find anything anywere about a venue named The Millenium in Houston though, other than on this poster.

San Antonio appears to be "Sneakers", not "The Sneaker", which is what it looks like on the poster. I found a whole thread with people talking about "Sneakers" on the internet, and one person said they saw Pantera there once, which led me to believe Down would have played there.

Hell, it could have changed names 16 times since then. That's another thing that makes this so damn difficult.

Nope. I did find a site with some old Houston dates of various local shows, including in '95. Millenium is listed on a few. :!:

well, there was an Atlanta date in the first - "2002 An Evening with Down section" It was at the Roxy. No support, its when they first started doing the "movie". Sorry - I don't have the exact date, but it was in that first leg, before Ozzfest, in support of II. I have a demo CD from that show, I'll dig it out, maybe it lists some tour dates, I dunno.

No worries. I just found the date on Blabbermouth, and you already nailed down the venue. Thanks man. :!:

It also had the venue for the Birmingham show that I needed. :!:

nice labbatt, I was going to start doing something like this, actually something similar to my other project:
http://www.livepantera.com

2008
April 25 - Madrid, Spain @ Joy Salva (Joy Eslava)
April 27 - Lisbon, Portugal @ Coliseum (Coliseu dos Recreios)

and this one's missing:
September 29, 1995 - Cleveland, OH @ The Odeon

28-08-2002 Shoreline Amphitheater - Mountain View, CA
25-09-1995 Fillmore West Ballroom - San Francisco, CA

Nope. The Cleveland show was the 26th. I found an old website that had the 26th listed. Plus, they were in Detroit the 25th and LA on the 30th (both the Detroit and LA show have been confirmed dates by people who were there). Taking all this info into account, I also don't think they would have played Cleveland on the 29th and been able to make an LA show on the 30th.

I got pretty reliable confirmation that it was The Millenium, and that's what it looks like on the tour poster too.

I want to nail down the date of the San Fran show. I had this date on my initial list but I not only saw 9/25 listed as a Detroit date on a website, but spoke with someone personally who attended the Detroit show. She still had her ticket stub as well and confirmed it was 9/25. My guess is that the San Fran show would be around the 29th or possibly the early part of October.

I'm going to have to do some digging around on that Mountain View show (possibly). I just found this though:

Quote:
The Ozzfest show at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, originally scheduled for Thursday, August 29th has been changed to Sunday, August 25th. In addition, the Ozzfest date at AutoWest Amphitheatre in Sacramento, originally scheduled for Sunday, August 25th has been changed to Saturday, August 24th.

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbe ... temID=3521

I also just found some pics online from that show the lists the 25th as the Mountain View show.

Thanks for those venue name updates though.
