Vampira: there's a bar right next door to the venue.

Aren't their severe floods currently ravaging that area?

you're best bet is to call for a cab. the one servicing new orleans is United Cab Co.

This might be of interest to those counting on cabs after the show... I ran into a group of people after last week's show who took a cab there but said the driver laughed at them when they said they needed a ride back to the Quarter after. Maybe it was because of Mardi Gras crowds, but they couldn't get a cab and were about to try to walk back to their hotel at about 2am (NOT a good idea).

That's probably an exception though. I think a cab to the quarter wouldn't be too hard to find.

My suggestion is to write down the number for whatever cab company you get a ride to the show with and then call them when you're ready to leave. There will not be cabs sitting outside the venue waiting to take you back.

We had VIP tickets and got there around 6:10 and was able to park in the small parking area next to the venue. Was directly in front of the tour bus, Pepper and Kirk were out talking to people before and after the show through the gate.

The show last night was great. It was my first time seeing Haarp & they made my trip worth it.The band was killer & Shaun is a fuckin beast. It seemed he spent half of their set in the crowd singing.Phil watched their entire set from the side of the stage & also came out to sing with him for a minute.I will definitely see Haarp again when I get the chance.I also picked up a couple shirts
As for DOWN,what can I say. They NEVER disappoint. The band was great as usual even with no Rex.Pat is a good fit with the rest of them.He should be the new bassist if Rex ever leaves the band.It might have been the best I have heard Phil sound in the 10 or so years I have been goin to Down shows. He had his mom &some family there & the whole band just seemed to be into it & have having a fun time. The merch was only about 5 shirts &2 signed posters. The venue was jammed packed & was hotter than hell.I was surprised at how many out-of-towners were there. Some dude got drug out during the beginning of the 2nd song from the first band.I never understood people that go to shows just to get kicked out as soon as the music starts. They didn’t play any new songs like I had hoped they would.I wonder if that is because Rex wasn’t there.
Hail the Leaf
Lysergic Funeral Procession
Lifer
Ghosts Along the Mississippi
The Path
Underneath Everything
Losing All
New Orleans Is A Dying Whore
Pillars Of Eternity
On March The Saints
NOD
Eyes Of The South
Stone The Crow
Bury Me In Smoke( w/ a bit of Walk Away)

My trip was worth it & I had a killer time visiting NOLA. All the food was great & the people were all pretty nice. Can’t wait to make another visit so I can see more if the sights. The long drive home tomorrow is gonna suck tho.
