This article brings up an incredibly valid point that is also crossing over into other areas of entertainment and artistic production/expression, that the big in house facilities and massive production days are pretty much over, whether it's music or writing or movies/other visual arts, almost anyone can get a quality home or small industrial type production setup and create quality stuff.

Now do they have the same warmth and life as some of these old style, classic facilities? Hell no, unless you incorporate older machinery and production styles into what you're doing or get modern equipment meant to duplicate that, but it's cheaper and that ultimately is going to drive everything. These types of facilities, along with the newspaper and magazine are pretty much going to go extinct at some point due to the fact that smaller, more versatile and more financially resilient methods and equipment now exist, and coupled with talented people wanting to do their own thing on their own terms, the big prestigious production facility is pretty much going the way of the dinosaur.

Why do I get the image of a 40 foot tall stack of gear in someones backyard, a 20 foot tall stack of beer cans and about 1000 people having the biggest jam session/block party in history? :jig: :badumpsh: :drunk2:
