Not long ago Birkenstocks were associated with tree-hugging, granola-munching hippie stereotypes. Stop by Covent Garden in London though and you can observe an entirely different picture. A stream of skinny-jeans-adorned hipsters wander in and out of the Birkenstock store. Those once derided sandals have somehow become a bone fide fashion item. Today, regarding Birkenstocks as hippie sandals is like calling a hotmail user cutting edge.

Sorry.
No wonder you seem pissed-off so much.
That'd damn sure make me hard to live with.

yeah, i often wonder why i'm bitchy alot...but then i realize i'm constantly in pain. even on good days its still painful. i remember one day i was driving with my mom and my ears both popped & i could hear everything like crystal clear and for about 5 minutes nothing hurt. i had this look on my face like "wow, this is wonderful" my mom was like "are you ok?" i told her this must be what its like to be normal...havent felt that since i was about 17!!

That sucks Grain!

But, your story of 5 minutes without pain reminded me of Blinkin on Robin Hood Men in Tights when he hits his head on a tree he can see again for a few seconds, then he hits his head again a few seconds later and goes back to blindness.

The fact that the Pittsburgh Penguins were eliminated from the playoffs this year by the Philadelphia Flyers.

Fuck those Philly bastards.

"Operation prohibited by disk"
Like, when yer tryin' to skip a gay-assed preview, or Humphry Bogart telling me how it's wrong to copy movies and shit.
As if I'm smart enough to figger out how to copy a movie and sell it for $$.
As if some heathen Chinee gives a damn, and will stop pirating movies and making bank because yer commercial changed his mind, and made him realize that he's been immoral all of this time?
No, "Operation prohibited by disk" dosen't just piss me off, it stone-cold infuriates me, literally makes me see red.

it was a damn sight worse last year, when I was still using an older dvd player.
Seemed like every damn thing I'd put innit had dust or somesuch onnit, so right in the middle of the movie, it'd skank-up.
Without fail, I'd have to get up, [ drunk and annoyed}, remove and clean the disk, and put it back in.
Then, instead of going back to where it had been, it would make me go back to the very beginning again, and all the FBI warnings and shit.
And Operation Prohibited by Disk.... Again.
Anyhow, I shotgunned that particular DVD player, [sorry, Netflix] , and bought a new one.
Like I said, it's infuriating.

I always thought those warning are a bit redundant. I obviously paid for this, and if I didn't you bet your ass I won't be seeing this
fucking message.

The warnings are only a part of it.
I cancelled my cable, maybe 5 years ago, and joined netflix.
Most of what I watch are tv shows, HBO stuff, ect.
The Commercials and previews from these companies are just as bad.
Fer example, HBO'll run one that lasts like, 5 minutes, showcasing all the other shows that they do.
This un in particular is bad for not letting you click next, or fast forward through it.
Operation prohibited by disk.
Really, fuckers?
I already goddamn well KNOW all the other shows ya'll produce.
Are ya'll really trying to make me sit here and watch your bullshit for 5 minutes?
I was never really crazy about people trying to MAKE me do A goddamn thing.
And I was never really crazy about pushing buttons, especially when I push them, and the machine mocks me.
Sure, seems innocent enough on it's surface, but that's how it begins, with machines thinkin they know better than me what I want.
One day, yer pushing buttons on a dvd player and being mocked by it.
The next, you've got A giant robot with an Austrian accent shooting at you with A .45 longslide...
